When Gordon Richiusa’s father, Sam (a Pearl Harbor Survivor Marine) gave his son the Heroes’ Hearts bracelet at Mae Richiusa’s memorial service he said simply, “Do Something Good with this.” He did not say, “Make money with this.” Consequentially, all the approved projects are those which help individuals and organizations who/which are attempting to Do Something Good as the first order of business. However, to achieve Project Objectives often requires professional help. We definitely want to INCENTIVIZE doing good.
The Earth Project (for instance) therefore partnered with existing non-profit and for-profit organizations (state, federal, and local) to accomplish our Mission. We created Redwood Recovery offered paying jobs to those in recovery from drugs, alcohol or other traumas to clear brush for the forest service and fire departments, which planting redwood trees. Tax benefits though deductions, services, and other physical incentives are therefore always built into each of the supported projects. Each project then often pays taxes for their services or the other promotions which are made available.
