Five Birds Publishing and Five Birds Productions became official authorized projects of Heroes’ Hearts Inc shortly after inception of the non-profit in 2016. The first published book after the switch was THE HEROES’ HEARTS COMPANION:
This book contains the entire interview of Sam Richiusa prior to the 60th anniversary of the battle of Pearl Harbor (which Gordon wrote about for the L.A. Daily News). It is seen as a logical companion to the exact replica bracelets that the VETS Program helped create (using laser technology), explained on the Certificates of Authenticity that comes with each replica.
The Publishing Project boasts a 20 year connection to INGRAM PUBLISHING (the premier print and digital distribution company in the world) and now has over 25 titles to its credit.
Our list of books have been published on behalf of other “heroes” as incentives to donate, and also to give the authors the best of self and conventional publishing worlds both as one non-profit service.

The first production project was with the Veterans Yoga Project that needed to make 40 videos to help veterans deal with the stress and trauma of their past service, often resulting in needed housing and counseling services. From this effort the “Heroes’ Helping Heroes initiative was created.
We began the production of the documentary PIECES OF ALOHA in 2016.
We began the production of The Liquid Sphere (written 50 years ago, music and lyrics completed in 2010, and published in 2020).
We wrote (from taped interviews) then PUBLISHED the book, ODE TO LIFE! The Love Story and registered this true story with the Writer’s Guild to hopefully become a “piece of aloha” when the documentary is completed.
